Job Description for Assistant Registrar

Senior Assistant Registrar, Academics Grade 13 ( 2 positions) – OUK
The Duties And Responsibilities Shall Include But Are Not Limited To:
- Implementing academic guidelines and policies;
- Ensuring preparation of University examinations;
- Ensuring safe custody of examinations;
- Coordinating processing of academic reports;
- Processing student admissions;
- Managing students’ databases on admissions and other related records;
- Developing guidelines on students’ discipline and welfare;
- Managing students’ discipline and welfare;
- Ensuring adherence to ethics and professional conduct and standards in the University;
- Preparing certificates and transcripts for students;
- Ensuring dispatch of examination materials;
- Managing examination records;
- Verifying examination marks;
- Preparing Departmental work plans and budgets;
- Monitoring and evaluation of learning and teaching;
- Coordinating student exchange programmes;
- Coordinating students’ industrial attachment;
- Coordinating research and innovation activities;
- Coordinating Alumni activities;
- Supervising Department staff.
For Assistant Registrar To This Grade, One MUST Have:
- A Master’s degree in a relevant area of a recognized and accredited University;
- At least twelve (12) years relevant work experience with at least three (3) years as an Assistant Registrar, Grade 12 or its equivalent;
- Leadership and Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks cumulatively;
- An outstanding professional competence in administration and management;
- Attained membership of a recognized professional administration or management body where applicable;
- Computer proficiency and conversant with the use of web-based technologies, including LMS and ERP systems.
