The Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu is an institution of the Aga Khan Health Service, Kenya, which is an Agency of the Aga Khan Development Network. The Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu has Outreach Health Services at Kisii, Kakamega, Kitale, Bungoma, Kericho, Kibuye-Kisumu, West End- Kisumu, Busia, Homa – Bay, Migori, Bomet, Eldoret, Kimilili and Nyamira. The Hospital is seeking to attract interested and qualified candidates to fill the following position within the Physiotherapy Department:
REHABILITATION SERVICES MANAGER
Reporting to the Clinical Support Services Manager and the Medical Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for provision of quality and efficient Rehabilitation services (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, neuro physiotherapy, etc.) to meet the patient’s rehabilitation demands in both inpatient and outpatient settings and ensure the smooth running of physiotherapy services in the hospital and outreach centers including working on the expansion of the physiotherapy services in the Hospital and its clusters.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES for Rehabilitation Services Manager
Ensuring effective and efficient management of Rehabilitative Physiotherapy & related services (Occupational therapy, Speech Therapy, Neuro physiotherapy, etc.) in the hospital and cluster by:
Coordinating, collating, and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Developing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on:
(i). Business Performance strategies and outcomes
(ii). Quality Improvement & Patient Safety strategies and outcomes.
(iii). Budgets (CAPEX, operational and staffing budgets), Costs and Sustainability strategies
(iv). Policies, guidelines, and processes reviews
(v). Service Excellence
(vi) Growth & services expansion
Allocating duties and responsibilities and monitoring timely service delivery for rehabilitation services. Participating in recruitment, orientation, progressive capacity building and performance management of staff.
The requirements
Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy or Higher Diploma in Physiotherapy with any of the specialties (OMT, Cardiopulmonary, Lymphedema etc.) from a recognized/certified institution.
Additional trainings in Rehabilitative services will be an added advantage.
A minimum of three years of management/leadership experience
Registration/Licensure as a professional with Physiotherapy Council of Kenya
A minimum of 5 years’ working experience in a busy reputable hospital.
