Job Description for Communications and Marketing Assistant

The Open University of Kenya aims to address the pressing issue of limited capacity in traditional universities by employing innovative teaching and learning methodologies, including online and distance education. Communications and Marketing Assistant (OUK)

The Duties And Responsibilities Shall Include But Are Not Limited To:

  1. Assisting in building corporate relations;
  2. Developing content on topical issues for uploading onto institutional websites;
  3. Creating Information Education Communication (IEC) materials;
  4. Undertaking media monitoring;
  5. Assisting in the preparation of media reviews, briefs, press releases/statements, and supplements;
  6. Maintaining public relations records and documents;
  7. Participating in events management;
  8. Contributing to marketing initiatives;
  9. Engaging in marketing and public communication efforts.

For Communications and Marketing Assistant To This Grade, One MUST Have:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Customer Service, Public Relations, Hospitality Management, International Relations and Diplomacy, Communication Management, Events Management, Front Office or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  2. Proficiency in ICT.
